Mary Ramsden
Les peintures de Mary Ramsden témoignent des rapports souples et complexes entre figuration et abstraction, les points où l’une cède à l’autre et où l’une résiste à l’autre. L’incertitude demeure. Là où la représentation est présente dans ces peintures, elle a une qualité fugitive, comme si les marques de Ramsden n’étaient pas tout à fait disposées à être entièrement englobées dans le pictural, préférant conserver une certaine autonomie.
